The latest news from the world of gymnastics is that world champion and Olympic medalist Chellsie Memmel from the USA has announced her retirement. This news was expected by many as Memmel has had a lot of injuries recently and is getting older for a gymnast. Unfortunately she missed out on qualifying for the 2012 Olympic trials after she didn't post a high enough score at the cover girl classic earlier in the year, and her high level of previous results were not taken into consideration.
